I am a Mountain Leader and wildlife guide based on the Isle of Arran. I am totally nuts about wildlife and the hills, and whether I'm working or having fun with my friends and family, I'm at my happiest in the great outdoors. My passions range from bird watching to ice climbing, and incorporate a lot of other stuff besides.
I started this blog to give people a taste of what an outdoor life on Arran is like. Initially I hoped that it would give potential customers an idea of what to expect when they book guided walks with me, but I have realised that a lot of people who enjoy the blog are simply other mountain and wildlife enthusiasts like me. The blog is also much more than a diary of things to do on Arran. In fact very little of my actual "work" seems to make it on these pages, and a lot of what I post isn't even based on Arran. Since I began writing here, I've been fortunate enough to have my
writing published elsewhere, and now have a regular gig writing for Mountain Pro Magazine and Outdoor Enthusiast Magazine.
If you would like to come and watch otters, golden eagles, or brush up on your navigation skills on the Isle of Arran with me, please feel free to visit the website I share with my husband Wally (also a Mountain Leader) for more info about guided walks and hikes on Arran. www.arranwildwalks.co.uk
