I started this blog to give people a taste of what an outdoor life on Arran is like. Initially I hoped that it would give potential customers an idea of what to expect when they book guided walks with me, but I have realised that a lot of people who enjoy the blog are simply other mountain and wildlife enthusiasts like me. The blog is also much more than a diary of things to do on Arran. In fact very little of my actual "work" seems to make it on these pages, and a lot of what I post isn't even based on Arran. Since I began writing here, I've been fortunate enough to have my writing published elsewhere, and now have a regular gig writing for Mountain Pro Magazine and Outdoor Enthusiast Magazine.
