Pinnacle Gully

The snow is still lingering high up on slopes that don't get the sun.  Today I headed in to the Devils Punchbowl and took a great snowy line up through Pinnacle Gully (grade I) and on to the ridge between Mullach Buidhe and Cioch na h-Oighe.

Streaks of snow ice clinging on to winter on the less sunny slopes.

The route was in great spring condition, with a line of ice in the burn flowing out the bottom, leading in to firm neve and banked out slopes.

Great views to the North East of Bute and the Firth of Clyde.

A small turfy step of ice sits at the narrowing to concentrate the mind, and then easy snow slopes ramp up past the pinnacle to the sunny ridge.

Looking back towards Cioch na h-Oighe from the sun soaked ridge.
